We acknowledge that the move to an aged care facility can be overwhelming for some of our new residents. Afterall, it can be very daunting fitting a big life lived into a single room in new surroundings, amongst new people.
We can assure you that we work very hard to make sure that everything possible is done to make the transition from the family home as smooth and stress free as possible, and we love watching our new residents settle in, make new friends and enjoy everything wonderful that Wenonah has to offer them.
Making the transition from the family home as smooth and stress free as possible
Every one of our 25 rooms, has its own up to date ensuite bathroom, bed, and staff call system. Spacious cupboards allow for adequate storage of clothing and personal effects and a lovely temperature controlled environment is maintained throughout the facility all year round.
Communal dining, loungerooms and other naturally lit, quiet nooks allow for regular social interaction and provide residents with the opportunity to enjoy a chin wag and a change of scenery.
Gardens and courtyards
Our gardens and courtyards provide some lovely green space and an opportunity for residents to stretch their legs and access fresh air and sunlight whenever they feel like it; and our aviary of budgerigars bring added joy to the animal lovers amongst our people.
Friendly competition and regular catch ups come in the form of our NRL Footy Tipping Competition, carpet bowls, card games and chess to name a few activities, as well as catch ups in our comfortable communal spaces that just provide great opportunities for a chin wag.
Our facility is grouped into cottages: A - Azalia, B - Boronia C- Camellia and D – Waratah, and all rooms and cottages are connected by passages that interlink communal dining and lounge rooms. Our entire buildings and grounds are 100% “smoke free” to add to the healthy and respectful environment that we have worked so hard to create.
