A commitment to quality and flavoursome food

We are very passionate about our commitment to quality and flavoursome food for both our residents and our Meals on Wheels clients. Every meal is lovingly cooked onsite, using fresh, seasonal produce and quality ingredients, and provides pleasure and sustenance for our residents, staff on duty and our Meals on Wheels clients.

Our daily menus are created with taste and nourishment in mind, and our clever kitchen staff work tirelessly to create an interesting, enjoyable and desirable menu, that promotes appetite and provides wholesome options for everyone.

In 2024, we were very proud to announce that we have been selected to take part in the Maggie Beer Foundation Trainer Mentor Program, whereby our fabulous kitchen team will be further inspired via mentoring and training that will expose them to even more menu ideas, opportunities and recipes.

Whilst our meals have always been regarded as delicious and nutritious by both our Wenonah Lodge residents and Meals on Wheels clients, since the Maggie Beer Foundation Mentor Program, our client and resident reviews have gone from great to outstanding; the results of which have been reflected with positive weight preservation across our residents.

Activities

Stimulating monthly activities calendar that is brimming with a wide variety of inhouse activities

Our activities officer creates a stimulating monthly activities calendar that is brimming with a wide variety of inhouse activities, in addition to monthly excursions for residents who are able to enjoy an outing with old and new friends.

Whether participating in gentle daily exercise classes, painting, craft, bingo or word games; enjoying a movie together or bringing out their competitiveness with a game of carpet bowls, cards, darts, or indoor golf and balloon tennis, you can be assured that our residents, volunteers, staff and visitors will be laughing and creating new memories every day. In winter, our in-house Footy Tipping competition brings about even more friendly banter and meal time table talk as those participating discuss the weekend’s games and outcomes.

In addition to our fun inhouse activities, we encourage and support our residents to remain in touch with their community, offering visits to schools, clubs and other places of interest as part of our stimulating calendar of events.

Trips to local shops or for an enjoyable cuppa with friends in the community also aids in creating a normal and interesting lifestyle for our residents. Additional activities include monthly church services, visits from the Library Mobile Van every 3 weeks, and an onsite hairdresser regularly throughout the year.

Family and friends are welcome to visit anytime and join in our regular activities and morning or afternoon teas, and you can often hear the combined laughter of multiple generations enjoying time together in our communal areas.
