Residential Care

Wenonah Lodge proudly provides quality, permanent residential aged care accommodation for the aging community of Gulgong and surrounding district.

Our combination of family values and professionalism equates to a high level of service, where kindness and empathy combine with competence to ensure our residents are well cared for, respected and supported in every way possible.

We believe that the secret of our residential aged care success is our home like atmosphere. Our facility is cosy, welcoming and caring and our staff’s concern for our residents is genuine, and many an unbreakable bond between staff member and resident has been built over the years.

Through a “triangle of care” between family, our residents and our staff, we really get to know and appreciate our residents

The security and comfort of knowing that there is a Registered Nurse available 24 hours a day, either on the premises or located nearby and on call, aids in residents feeling safe and protected should they need medical assistance at any time of the day.

Through a “triangle of care” between family, our residents and our staff, we really get to know and appreciate our residents, understanding who they are, and the life that they have lived before coming to live with us.  With many a story, memory or reminiscence shared during activity and mealtimes or just over a quiet cuppa, our residents are listened to and admired for all of the great things, both big and small that they have achieved during their lifetime.

Daily care and assistance is provided with empathy, kindness and professionalism, and we pride ourselves on addressing the individual needs of each resident, caring for them in a manner that supports their dignity, confidence and overall wellbeing.

A Triangle of Care - The Resident, The Family And Wenonah Lodge

By working with our residents and their family we are able to provide the ‘triangle of care’ where our professional and highly trained staff develop individual care plans for each resident.

Through open, respectful and sympathetic communication, we are able to adapt to the changing needs of each resident throughout their time with us, ensuring that the best support and services are being provided throughout every stage of their life.

As care needs vary, we often find that the majority of residents, supported by their families, choose to remain in their familiar and comfortable environment at Wenonah Lodge, and where possible we will work to ensure that this happens, even during palliative end of life care. We do acknowledge, that this is not always possible, depending on circumstances, but rest assured we do our absolute best to meet this request and provide all of the comfort, love and care to our residents and families at this time.

Family and friends are welcome to visit anytime and join in our regular activities. We do ask though that if a family member is unwell, that they postpone their visit so as to not bring illness into our facility.

All visitors to Wenonah Lodge may be asked to undertake a Covid and temperature test upon entry to our facility and may have to wear a mask throughout the duration of their visit. Directions regarding this will be provided at the time of your visit.
